Simulation and modeling involve building virtual systems that behave like real world systems. By carefully modeling real-world behaviors and inputs, such replicas allow designers to verify that an idea will deliver the required results, experiment with different parameters to determine the best configuration of parts and tasks, and test the effectiveness of new upgrades.
On our GPSTAC contract, ISI has performed many simulation and modeling tasks, including developing the National Satellite Test Bed. On our USTDA contracts, ISI often uses modeling tools to optimize airspace to take advantage of modern CNS/ATM capabilities, or to suggest the placement of modern navigation aids.
