ISI’s Environmental Policy
ISI recognizes that all our activities, offices and employees have an impact on the environment. This includes the natural resources and raw materials that we use as well as wastes and emissions. We are committed to managing and minimizing these impacts wherever possible.
ISI considers a precautionary approach to environmental protection as an integral part of our processes and services. We believe that from a business perspective, the key element of a precautionary approach is the idea of prevention rather than cure. We find it is more cost-effective to take early action to ensure that irreversible environmental damage does not occur.
ISI supports responsible and ethical management of products and processes from the point of view of health, safety and environmental aspects. In accordance with local, national and international policies, we:

- Adopt the same operating standards regardless of location
- Ensure supply-chain management
- Facilitate technology transfer
- Contribute to environmental awareness in company locations
- Communicate with the local community

ISI encourages the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies. We adhere to or exceed environmental goals in cleaner operations, including using electronic transmission of files to reduce paperwork, recycling of office papers and supplies, and purchasing more environmentally friendly technologies. We apply environmentally friendly technologies in our procedures, goods and services, and equipment as well as our organizational and managerial processes. We use common sense, including turning off lights and idle equipment. We actively pursue the business benefits that come from a more efficient use of resources.

- We use life cycle assessment (LCA) in the development of new technologies and products, so as to take into account impacts in manufacture, use and at the end of life of the product.
- We co-operate with industry partners to ensure that ’best available technology‘ is available to other organizations.
